Our revered Founder, Late Dr. R.N. Shetty is a great far-sighted visionary, a renowned industrialist, educationist and philanthropist.
For his outstanding contributions to education, industry and society, Dr.R.N.Shetty has been bestowed with several coveted awards including the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, the prestigious Visvesvaraya Memorial Award and the KASSIA Kaigarika Ratna Award. He has also been conferred an Honorary Doctorate from Bangalore University.
Dr.R.N. Shetty is an icon of the State and his vast industrial empire spans varied fields. RNS is a celebrated name in the fields of engineering, ceramic and vitrified tiles industry, automobiles, educational institutions, hospitals, hotels, temples, highways, electric projects, power projects, canals, railways, bridges, tunnels, dams, etc., each of these stands as a testimony to his exemplary contributions to the Society and the people in general.

One of Dr. R.N. Shetty’s passions and commitments is to spread the wrap and weft of education deep into the social fabric. This has resulted in the birth of several distinguished and high class educational institutions like the RNS Institute of Technology, Rural Polytechnic, Pre-University College, First Grade College, RNS International School, Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Institute of Nursing College to name a few.
Dr. Shetty richly deserves all the accolades and admiration for his architectural skills in building the tallest Shiva Statue (123 feet) with 20 storey Raja Gopura Temple in Murudeshwar in Uttara Kannada, which recently won the People’s Choice Award, organised by Global Philips competing against 24 other global projects in the world.
